The Software Supplier Manager role is an essential member of the software development team.
Our teams work with experienced project and technical leaders in the delivery of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), User Experience (UX), Radar, and Compute and Security (C&S) products.
Aptiv develops cutting-edge ADAS technologies that enhance vehicle safety, including features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assistance.
The key job functions for the Software Supplier Manager are as follows:
Own and lead supplier management (implement ACQ.4) for the assigned products
Evaluate vendor capabilities, technologies, and service offerings
Create and manage RFQ (Request for Quote) processes
Identify, select, and manage suppliers to develop reliable and safe software
Maintain comprehensive contract (SOW) documentation, including negotiating terms with SOW vendors (scope, pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules)
Support project teams in coordinating software delivery from SOWs in line with Aptiv’s quality expectations
Establish and track KPIs for suppliers and monitor software quality, reliability, and performance
Analyze data, identify inefficiencies, and implement strategies to improve SOW team performance
Address issues with SOW teams such as delays or quality problems
Provide regular updates to leadership on supplier performance
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field)
5+ years of experience as embedded software developer or systems engineer
2+ years of experience including software project management and/or software supplier management leading global teams
Strong communication skills
Master’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field)
Familiarity with Automotive SPICE
Ability to cultivate strong relationships across Aptiv engineering and program management
Experience with Active Safety systems or autonomous driving systems
Experience with SDLC tools (JIRA, requirements management tools, configuration management tools)
Familiarity with AUTOSAR
