                         **Introduction**
We are a small team that sits at the intersection of IT and Operations.
 Our primary internal customer is IBM Systems Development teams.
Everyone on the team wears multiple hats and has responsibilities in multiple areas to allow cross training and back up support.
This position includes the development and system / license administration responsibilities as referenced.
**Your role and responsibilities**
The Served License Management team provides end-to-end support of the environment for serving and tracking third party software applications that are critical to the IBM Systems and Research engineering teams.
 This includes the server infrastructure, license infrastructure and various tools that support license access, usage, and tracking.
This role will be responsible for both development and server/license administration tasks:
*  Software development (maintain existing tools and develop new features) of Software License Tracking Tool (SWLT) and related tools & scripts.
* System and license administration and support (ie installation, migration, upgrade, security) for Software License Servers on Linux and Windows.
* Provide reports and data insights to support the license renewals process.
Job Duties:
* You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing PHP code / yii / PostgreSQL DB / MVC frameworks, and related scripts to meet project needs.
This includes design, development, test, documentation, and support of the internal application.
* You will work with stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions to automate licensing tracking for IBM Systems.
* You will implement solutions following IBM guidelines such as change management, security, and agile development.
* You will manage the SW License IT environment, including Linux and Windows systems management, patching, upgrades, and security to meet internal customer availability needs and team objectives.
* You will manage license environments by installing third party applications, installing license files, managing internal customer tickets, and debugging and resolving user issues, working with suppliers on issues related to their applications.
* You will develop / maintain documentation within the development environment as well as process management / execution.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Experience in Web Development and frameworks (MVC/PHP/yii)
* Database management system PostgreSQL.
* Experience with source code repositories (such as RTC / Git / Github Enterprise)
* Experience using or supporting Linux
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.                                   
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.       
* Very good written and verbal communication.
* Fluent in English.
* Ability to learn and apply.        
* Keen attention to detail. 
* Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Team-oriented.  
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Linux & Windows system administration skills.
* Shell scripting.
* Javascript (including Dojo, jQuery)
* Versed in Agile methodologies.
* IBM Security experience
