This role involves handling complex troubleshooting, day-to-day operations, and project escalations in large/global enterprise environments.
The focus will be wireless networking , with exposure to SD-WAN and firewall operations as an advantage.
You will work closely with the security team (who manage policy) while owning the hardware, configuration, and uptime of network platforms.
The position includes project work—such as Avail and Project Dolly—and will evolve into a rotating on-call schedule as part of a follow-the-sun support model.
Responsibilities Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex network issues, primarily focused on Cisco wireless (controllers, APs, RF, authentication).
Troubleshoot and optimize WLAN/LAN/WAN performance (packet flow, RF interference, roaming, DHCP/DNS/RADIUS).
Implement and support Cisco wireless technologies (9800/Catalyst controllers, DNA Center/Prime, ISE/802.1X).
Contribute to SD-WAN and firewall device management to reduce dependency on the security team.
Deliver project work for enterprise initiatives such as Avail and Project Dolly (site setup, cutovers, stabilization).
Create and maintain operational documentation, diagrams, and runbooks for Tier 1/2 support.
Collaborate with vendors (Cisco TAC/ePlus) and drive RCA and preventive measures.
Participate in an eventual rotating on-call schedule supporting 24x7 operations.
Technical Requirements Must-Have Skills 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with deep Cisco wireless expertise .
Advanced troubleshooting of enterprise WLAN (RF fundamentals, roaming, QoS, spectrum analysis).
Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless controllers/APs (9800/Catalyst) and management tools (DNA Center/Prime).
Strong understanding of AAA/ISE, 802.1X, and certificate-based authentication.
Proven background supporting large/global enterprise environments at Tier 3 level.
Excellent documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
English Level: B2+ (Conversational) Desired Skills Experience with SD-WAN (Cisco SD-WAN/Viptela or similar).
Familiarity with firewall administration (Cisco ASA/FTD/Firepower).
Scripting or automation (Python, Ansible) and network observability tools.
