About The Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a
highly skilled and growth-oriented Senior Software Engineer
to join our agile R&D teams focused on building scalable, cloud-based SaaS solutions that empower the future of higher education.

In this role, you'll work across the full software development lifecycle—designing, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level solutions that drive student success and institutional innovation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage modern development practices, and work with technologies ranging from cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines to AI-augmented development tools.

Where You Will Make an Impact

• Design and Development: Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable, cloud-based ERP and SaaS applications, services, and infrastructure components.
  
  
• Full Lifecycle Ownership: Contribute across the entire software development lifecycle—from design and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  
  
• Application & Platform Engineering: Build and enhance front-end interfaces, back-end APIs, and infrastructure tooling, ensuring robust, future-proof solutions.
  
  
• Quality & Best Practices: Write maintainable, well-documented code with unit and functional tests, while advocating for best practices in usability, performance, security, accessibility, and code quality.
  
  
• DevOps & Cloud Enablement: Support CI/CD workflows, infrastructure as code, and cloud deployment processes using modern tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Terraform.
  
  
• AI Integration: Leverage AI-augmented development tools to improve workflows, automate tasks, and deliver intelligent features that enhance the user experience.
  
  
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product managers, business analysts, architects, and developers to clarify requirements, solve problems, and deliver reliable solutions.
  
  Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  
  
• Customer Focus: Provide development support for customer escalations and participate in a team support rotation to ensure quality and accountability of deliverables.
  
  
• Agile Engagement: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to team velocity, quality, and continuous improvement.
  
  
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to drive innovation and personal growth.
  
  

What You Will Bring

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, with 5-7 years of experience as a full-stack software developer.
  
  
• Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming, with experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, KnockoutJS, or jQuery.
  
  
• Frameworks & Patterns: Hands-on experience with .NET MVC and familiarity with MVC design principles.
  
  
• Development Tools: High proficiency with Visual Studio and related development environments.
  
  
• Cloud & Virtualization: Experience developing applications for cloud and virtualized environments, including deployment at scale.
  
  
• Testing & Quality: Knowledge of automated testing practices and a commitment to writing maintainable, well-documented code.
  
  
• Agile Practices: Proven experience working in Agile development environments, contributing to team velocity and continuous improvement.
  
  
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  
  
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
  
• Nice to Have: Experience with colleague development, higher education solutions, or large-scale system deployments is a plus.
