Your role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Product Team at Qualified, you will tackle technically challenging problems by building exceptional products and enhancing our processes and technology.

You will work on integrating LLMs, embeddings, and other AI technologies into our offerings, pushing the boundaries to deliver innovative features and user experiences.

You will own end-to-end delivery and success of features—from coding and testing to deployment, monitoring, and customer rollout—while maintaining high standards of engineering and code quality.

You will also work closely with customers to gather immediate feedback and continuously improve our products.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop customer-focused applications by building new features, improving existing ones, and creating new products.
  
  
• Utilize advances in machine learning, LLMs, and AI technologies to enhance our products and deliver delightful user experiences.
  
  
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Engineers to ideate and develop mission-critical applications.
  
  
• Conduct rapid prototyping and iterative development to improve AI solutions based on real-world performance and user feedback.
  
  
• Ensure core functionality is stable, scalable, well-maintained, and continuously improving.
  
  
• Grow technical skills to tackle challenges related to quality, performance, robustness, and reliability.
  
  
• Contribute to the team’s culture by mentoring engineers and setting standards of engineering excellence.
  
  
• Support and scale highly-available, high-traffic services essential for customers' time-sensitive needs.
  
  

Qualifications - Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in professional full-stack software development.
  
  
• Experience with all components of a modern web application.
  
  
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, systems design, and large-scale, low-latency systems.
  
  
• Experience with SQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) and data warehousing solutions.
  
  
• Strong software engineering practices, including coding, unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation.
  
  
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

• Advanced proficiency with English, both written and verbal.
  
  
• Passionate about crafting innovative, user-centric solutions and solving intricate technical problems.
  
  
• Curious about engineering beyond immediate discipline with a desire to stay at the cutting edge of applied AI.
  
  
• Driven to create elegant, intuitive, and user-friendly products.
  
  
• Self-directed and experienced in owning complete features and products.
  
  
• Willing to step outside comfort zone to tackle challenges as the product and team grow.
  
  
• Proactive in sharing thoughts and input; values open communication.
  
  
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  
  

Nice to have

• Experience using frontier-scale LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini) programmatically in production.
  
  
• Previous experience in a startup or scaling a product/platform.
  
  
• Experience architecting applications within a monorepo.
