About the team

The FUB+ Infrastructure & Security Team at Zillow Group supports the Follow Up Boss systems, applications, and software engineering teams that power the businesses of tens of thousands of real estate teams and the agents within them across the U.S. and Canada.

Follow Up Boss is the supercharged CRM and critical operating system for agents and teams who are helping guide buyers on their journey to find their home.

About the role

As a member of the FUB+ Infrastructure & Security team you will architect, develop and deploy systems, processes and environments that support numerous services developed by engineers within the FUB+ engineering organization.

You will help us deliver the most reliable and performant experience for our customers and keep our existing infrastructure stable, while we continue to scale in a steady and reliable way.

You will share on-call duties with the rest of the FUB+ Infrastructure & Security team.

We are looking for an individual with a demonstrated track record of building secure, large scale, highly available services using automation and Infrastructure as Code, who is well versed in cloud architecture, and loves to delight the engineers they support.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will:

• Take shared ownership and responsibility for the infrastructure, reliability, scalability and performance of our applications and services.
  
  
• Interact with the engineers we support and help to drive improvements for developer environments and productivity.
  
  
• Identify and propose concrete steps to best improve existing infrastructure.
  
  
• Assist in determining top infrastructure priorities.
  
  
• Assist in ensuring company security practices and policies are being adhered to.
  
  
• Actively measure and monitor systems and react to anomalies as part of on-call rotation.
  
  
• Actively troubleshoot issues with the infrastructure and services.
  
  
• Press us forward with more automation and tooling to support our customer growth and engineering team effectiveness.
  
  
• Mentor other team members.
  
  

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position.

Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company.

Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• 5+ years of relevant SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering experience.
  
  
• Experience with SDLC principles, architecture and operations.
  
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and processes (Terraform and Ansible).
  
  
• Experience with instrumentation for monitoring and logging the health and availability of services.
  
  
• Experience writing comprehensive documentation.
  
  
• Passionate about building and fostering good engineering practices and processes.
  
  
• Well versed in Amazon Web Services offerings, such as RDS, EC2, Route 53, S3, ElastiCache, and more.
  
  
• Strong Experience scripting/coding with Bash, PHP, and/or Python.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (we use Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL).
  
  
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD environments.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of UNIX and networking.
  
  
• Proven track record of being security conscious.
  
  
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
