The Product Engineer designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates options and makes complex design recommendations to fulfill requirements.

Assesses results for applicability, validity, and conformance with design specifications.

Performs moderate design and skilled technical tasks.

The Product Engineer is authorized to make modifications to current designs to improve performance, work on cost reduction projects, and initiate projects with certification agencies for approval of engineering changes.

About Your Job:

Responsibility for Creating / Developing Designs (20%)

  • Draw and model when required.

  • Understand and use the ECO / GCF system.

  • Engineering Change Management (30%)

  • Develop preliminary drawings with the required change description.

  • Ensure the creation and delivery of marked-up drawings for changes.

  • Verify that markup formats contain all necessary information.

  • Conduct feasibility analysis meetings with operations and service departments.

  • If the change is approved, develop and track it until its release in the system (LGDV).

  • Participates in Project Implementation (New Products, Modifications, or Cost Reductions) (10%)

  • Attend phase review meetings from Phase 1 to 5 (when applicable).

  • Define commitment dates for product validation activities.

  • Follow up on commitment dates (Design & Validation).

  • Deliver results according to commitment dates (Design & Validation).

  • Teamwork.

  • Clarify Technical Application Requirements for Internal and External Customers (20%)

  • Related to raw materials.

  • Related to products (Design).

  • Related to specifications (ISO, IMDS, RoHS, etc.).

  • Related to certifications (UL, CSA, VDE, etc).
     

  • Problem Solving Using Various Techniques (20%)

  • 5 Whys

  • 8D

  • A3

  • Ishikawa Diagrams

  • Six Sigma.

  • Additional Activities

  • Prototype management and fabrication.

  • Product validation.

  • Generate and update specification sheets.

  • Generate product deviations.

  • Generate product quality improvements.

  • About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Electronic, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience.

  • English proficiency: At least 75% (written, reading, or conversational).

  • Knowledge of Core Tools (FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP, SPC, etc.).

  • Familiarity with ISO or TS standards.
