POSITION SUMMARY

We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join our Core UX Team, building high-quality mobile experiences that directly impact EarnIn’s customers.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Android development, a passion for user experience, and a drive to collaborate across mobile and product teams.

While the primary focus is on Android, we value engineers who are open to broadening their impact by learning from iOS and backend peers to deliver features end-to-end.

You’ll work closely with designers, iOS engineers, and backend partners to deliver and maintain intuitive, scalable features.

You’ll have opportunities for technical ownership, cross-platform collaboration, and ongoing growth.

This position will ideally be hybrid from our Mexico City office as part of our expanding site, though a remote arrangement is possible.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and maintain Android mobile features that support seamless, accessible, and cohesive user experiences.
  
  
• Collaborate with product and design partners to translate UX ideas into reliable, maintainable UI using Jetpack Compose and modern architecture patterns.
  
  
• Collaborate with iOS and backend engineers to ensure seamless cross-platform cohesion and effective backend integration.
  
  
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in Kotlin, following modern development paradigms.
  
  
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and cross-platform discussions with teams working on Android, iOS, and the backend.
  
  
• Help diagnose and fix production issues and contribute to performance tuning, accessibility, and UX instrumentation.
  
  
• Work closely with QA and product to validate features and ensure high-quality releases.
  
  
• Proactively engage in team learning, knowledge sharing, and embracing new tools and technologies.
  
  

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
  
• Proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development paradigms, including Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines, and Android architecture components.
  
  
• Experience with development and debugging tools like Android Studio, profiling tools, Crashlytics, and Git.
  
  
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute to user-focused, cross-functional solutions.
  
  
• Solid understanding of UX principles, mobile interaction patterns, and design system alignment.
  
  
• Good testing practices, including unit and UI testing to support code quality and stability.
  
  
• Clear communication and collaboration skills in distributed team environments.
  
  
• 3+ years of Android development experience in production environments.
  
  
• Experience working in fast-paced, iterative teams using Agile or similar methodologies.
  
  
• Experience with accessibility standards, mobile analytics, or performance optimization is a plus.
  
  
• Proactive interest in working with AI tools and on AI-driven solutions: You’ll have opportunities to use generative AI, automation, and AI-powered analytics to enhance our product and your workflow, driving innovation at EarnIn.
