**Discover Impactful Work**: Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
SRE ensures that Thermo Fisher Scientific's services have reliability, uptime appropriate to customers' needs and a fast rate of improvement.
Additionally, SRE’s will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance.

On the SRE team, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in various challenges of scale in Thermo Fisher Scientific, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.
**A day in the Life**: - be part of a team of Software/Systems Engineers on projects for users and be directly responsible for uptime.
- Support end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
Automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
- Be part of on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
- Take part of designing, writing and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific's services.
**Keys to Success**: **Education and Experience**: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years experience as part of engineering team on projects with technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and/or storage.
- Very good Experience in software development in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Go and/or Perl, Python, Ruby.
- Real Experience in Ecommerce Web sites (good understanding of overall eco systems) - Hands on experience in Kubernetes/EKS/terraform/AWS/Akamai - Very good understanding in core linux - Experience in participating in MIMs (Major Incident Management) to resolution - Proficiency working with algorithms, data structures and production troubleshooting.
